Pop Of Pink

Hey everyone--

It's been feeling a bit dreary here. I've never been as cold in my whole life as I have been this week. Braving the cold winter winds on campus is taking it's toll on me! All I want to do is crawl into bed, watch Hart of Dixie and stuff my face with cookies. Come on motivation, I need to get back to the gym! Sadly. when the wind chill hits -20, I hit my blanket fort.

(I'm apologizing now for the crazy hair, the wind was insane when these were taken.)

To beat the winter blahs, I decided to put together a Deb Shops outfit with a pop of color. These hot pink pants are the solution to your snowy slump. They are such a fun color and they have an awesome fit. This black hooded vest is a cold weather essential. I've been wearing it over everything this week. To complete the look, I paired the vest and pants with a cream knit sweater, a buffalo print top (similar) and black quilted riding boots. To accessorize, I threw on a black statement necklace and this adorable black quilted handbag.

Stay warm friends!

January's Treat: Kate Spade Inspired DIY Glitter Watch

Hey everyone!

Has anyone else been lusting after the gorgeous Kate Spade glitter watches that were all over the web during the holiday season?  I sure have been! As a college student, I'm on a budget that would not allow me to buy the actual Kate Spade watch that I wanted. So, I decided to use a little bit of Mod Podge and loose glitter to create a watch inspired by the Kate Spade glitter watch that stole my heart. If you're in the same boat as me, get out that glitter and follow these 6 simple steps!

Materials: watch, mod podge, paint brush, loose glitter

Instructions:

1. Dip a paint brush into Mod Podge and coat the straps of the watch. (This project gets a bit sparkly, so if you don't want your surface to be covered in glitter put down a towel or piece of paper.)

2. Sprinkle loose glitter onto the wet Mod Podge.

3. Let the glitter set for just a few minutes and then shake off the excess glitter.

4. Next, let the watch dry for a couple of hours.

5.  Then, put a second coat of Mod Podge onto the watch, over the glitter.

6. Wait until the watch is completely dry, then wear it to add a touch of glamour and shine to any look!

Scene And Sequins

Hey everyone--

The weather in my town warmed up for a bit and I've been celebrating by wearing a few bright ensembles.  Deb Shops has helped me create the perfect coral look with this gorgeous sequin skirt dress. Since there is still a bitter chill in the air, I paired my dress with a pair of oak brown tights and a classic cream cardigan/shrug. I decided to accessorize with a colorful statement necklace, teardrop earrings, a dazzling cocktail ring and a ladylike cross-body bag. I'm also wearing my favorite pair of heels in my closet at this moment, lovely nude pumps.

Happy Sunday!

Warm Fuzzies

Hey everyone--
I hope you're all staying warm and toasty! I wish I was fireside, sipping a hot cocoa. I love when the snow comes, but I get so cold! I don't like having to bundle up, but the snow makes for a pretty winter wonderland scene.

I'm loving the mixing textures trend for this fall/winter fashion season. This Charlotte Russe sweater has a fuzzy texture that makes the plain black color a bit more fun and as an added bonus it's super soft!

I have some exciting news for you all. I've been invited to my first local blogging event by the beautiful and talented Amanda of Girl About Columbus.  I'm so excited to meet the other great bloggers living in my town. It should be a great time! I will definitely blog about it for you guys to see how it goes!

OH & I couldn't be happier that it's Friday. Happy weekend friends!
