November's Treat: Anthropologie Inspired Snow Globe

This Christmas, I wanted to make my sister a special gift. Her presents are always so thoughtful so I decided to get creative this gift season. The minute I saw the idea for an Anthropologie inspired snow globe, I fell in love. It's a wonderful homemade gift idea if you're on a budget and want to give a gift from the heart! Plus, it's adorable!

Materials: mason jar with lid, white carft glitter, miniature dollhouse tree, miniature plastic reindeer, cellophane treat bag, scissors, red lace ribbon, forest green ribbon, plastic red berry cluster, Christmas tree name-tag, pencil

FYI: You can find the miniature tree and reindeer at any craft store. Also, feel free to buy whatever name-tag and ribbon that you like best.

Instructions:

1. Start with an empty mason jar and remove the lid.

2. Fill the bottom of the jar with white craft glitter. Be sure to put enough glitter in the jar to root the tree and the reindeer, so that they don't move around!

3. Place the miniature tree into the jar and gently pat the bottom sides of the jar to get the glitter to surround the base of the tree.

4. Place the miniature reindeer inside the jar. This will be the trickiest part of the project because you almost have to drop them onto the glitter because your hand probably won't fit into the jar. If the reindeer fall over, use the eraser side of a pencil to try and stand them up again.

5. Put the lid back onto the jar.

6. Slip a cellophane treat bag around the jar.

7. Use scissors to cut red lace ribbon and forest green ribbon.

8. Tie the ribbons into a bow around the jar and the cellophane bag.

9. Cut a small branch off of the plastic berry cluster.

10. Stick the branch through the center knot of the ribbon bow.

11. Write a special message on the back of a Christmas tree name-tag.

12. Tie the name-tag onto the ribbon bow.

13. When the jar is complete, give your festive gift with holiday cheer and have a merry merry Christmas!

Every Kiss Is A Cursive Line

Hey everyone--
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. I'm surprised I can still move after all of the pumpkin pie I ate! It was so nice for me to be reunited with my entire family. I have so much to be thankful for. My family reminded me of this. They've been there for me every stage of my life. Over this Thanksgiving break, I realized just how strong the bond between all of us is.. It can't be broken. It was a much needed trip home!

I can't believe December will be here this week. This year, I'm actually awaiting the start of a new year, instead of dreading it. It feels so good to turn over a new leaf.. And I promise you, I'm turning over a new leaf. Cheers!

Happy Tuesday friends!

But I'm Dreamin' In Red

Hey everyone--
My Thanksgiving break has almost come! I cannot wait to celebrate with my family and just RELAX for a few days! It will be so nice! I wish I could write a little bit more, but I'm feeling very under the weather. I'm hoping that I'll perk up in a few days for the festivities. I was very flattered today when I was approached for a picture by People magazine's cotton campaign. That gave me a little oomph to carry on with my day despite the sickness.

Anyway, it's very cloudy and chilly outside so I'm going to snuggle up and take a nap. I will write again soon!

Happy Tuesday all and a Happy Thanksgiving! I'm thankful for all of you! I'm very blessed to have the life that I do. I have too many blessings to count. To all of my American friends, I pray that the thankfulness and love we have in our hearts on Thursday be present in our hearts every day of the year! God bless all of us!
(I apologize in advance for the lighting/quality in these photos, it was almost dark but I wanted to snap a few shots!)

Get The Look: Girls Day Out

la

As Warm As The Sun, As Silly As Fun

Hi everyone--
I hope you all had a lovely Veteran's Day weekend. I just want to take a second and thank all of the veterans that have risked their lives to keep our lives peaceful.. If only everyone could be so brave.

I absolutely love long weekends. The weather was unexpectedly warm! I cannot wait for snow, but the nice weather was a lovely surprise. I'm a bit jealous of all of the snowy pictures I've seen. I've been pinning the most adorable holiday projects and recipes and I'm praying that the first snowflake will fall this week. I'm filled with Christmas spirit!
Happy Monday!

'Til We're Both On The Same Damn Side

Hi everyone--
Everything has been in full swing lately! Is it just me, or did October go by in the blink of an eye? I can't believe that November is here. It seems like it was just yesterday that I was packing for my New York trip and I've been home and unpacked for weeks now. That lovely week went by way too fast.

How was election night for all of you? I had a great time attending an election party with my boyfriend.   I've never had very opinionated ideas when it comes to politics, but I've surprised myself this year. I probably have to credit this to my boyfriend being in politics. However,
I've realized that the business of fashion and the business of politics share many similarities.

I've really been slacking on my work out plan. Starting next week, I have to make time to get to the gym! I miss it so much. I hope all of you are staying strong and fabulous!

Happy Thursday!

Get The Look: Sunday In Sequins

Sunday In Sequins

And For The First Time, What's Past Is Past

Hi everyone--
Today I felt that need for a little sparkle. I adore these shorts. I love mixing trendy sequin pieces with more casual basic ones. I think the end result looks very urban. The perfect look for a Sunday afternoon football party.

I don't know about you, but I love Sundays. Possibly because it's my only day of the week to relax and lie around. I always seem to find a little me time on Sundays. I used to dislike Sundays, but this year I've found myself looking forward to them. Today, I enjoyed a lovely visit from parents and a slice of pumpkin pie. I can't wait for the holidays! There is less than a month until Thanksgiving and I'm pretty excited.

Have a happy week everyone!
